Vehicle Description
One of just sixty produced, this 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Deluxe
Coupe is a stunning pre-war luxury car that represents the height
of Cadillac's engineering and design prowess before the outbreak of
World War II. The 1941 Series 62 Deluxe Coupe was the only one in
that series Bill Mitchell worked on. This fine example was restored
by D&D Classic Auto in 2016 and only 8,000 miles have been
added since. Equipped with the first year Hydra-Matic (Automatic)
transmission, this CCCA Full-Classic is an excellent, easy to drive
touring classic. Cosmetically it should be noted they car is in
excellent shape with sharp black paint, very nice chrome and a
beautiful gray broadcloth interior. Mechanically, this car is well
sorted, runs strong and is very reliable. Notable Innovation: 1941
was the first year Cadillac introduced fender-mounted headlights as
a standard feature, which gave the car a more modern, aerodynamic
look. This would set the tone for post-war automotive design across
the industry. In addition, in late 1941, Cadillac introduced the
first Automatic (Hydra-Matic) transmission which is equipped on
this vehicle. Production Volume: Cadillac produced a fair number of
Series 62 models in 1941, but coupes, particularly in Deluxe trim,
are rare with only around 60 produced. The disruption caused by
World War II halted production of all civilian cars in 1942, making
the 1941 models even more collectible today. Collectibility: The
1941 Cadillac Series 62 Deluxe Coupe is highly collectible,
especially in restored as this example is (Restoration Year: 2016).
Its pre-war significance, combined with Cadillac's reputation for
luxury and performance, makes it a coveted piece of automotive
history. Enthusiasts appreciate its advanced design features,
powerful V8 engine, and the elegance of its time. Engine
Performance: The 346 cubic inch V8 engine in the 1941 Series 62
Deluxe Coupe delivers 150 horsepower, which was an impressive
figure for the time. Known for its smooth operation and strong
torque, the engine provided ample power for highway cruising,
making the car one of the most powerful and refined of its era.
Ride and Handling: The Series 62 Deluxe Coupe was engineered for
comfort and ease of driving. Its suspension system, combined with
Cadillac's advanced engineering, provided a smooth ride, even on
rough roads.
