Vehicle Description
2002 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe
The C5 Vette was launched in March of 1997. It was a clean slate
rethink of the Corvette formula: two seats, composite body, pushrod
V8 and independent suspension. The C5 shared very few parts with
the earlier Corvettes-or with any other GM products, for that
matter. The engineers took this opportunity to push the envelope
when it came to technology and manufacturing processes, and the
result was a vastly better car than before.
For consignment, a low title verified 34,944 actual mileage vehicle
that has a 5.7 L LS1 V8 under the hood. Sensuous silver is bathing
the pristine condition fiberglass sculpted body which leans toward
the rounded and lower lines of this C5 version. An excellent chance
to own a very nice version of the "Vette" for a very reasonable
price...Act now!
Exterior
Quicksilver paint drapes the exterior of this sculpted fiberglass
car. A sensuous body with hidden headlights, large intakes in the
front bumper, scalloped sides and all very fluid surfaces, this is
a serious performance car. Paint is excellent overall with just a
few faults but they are very minor. All else is pure Corvette with
the round tail lights within the sculpted bumper and quad exhaust
taking over the bottom middle of the rear of this car. Black
trimmings for all the glass which is in pristine condition. The
removable smoked top is showing as blue tinted and very clear, as
well as leak free. 17-inch for the front, and 18-inch for the rear
cast aluminum chrome 5 spoke wheels are wrapped in low profile all
season rubber all around.
Interior
Ebony leather, power adjustable, high back buckets await you.
You'll notice on the driver's seat there is wonderful aging with
slight folds of age and light use along with a crack in the leather
on the outside facing back bolster. Sliding in through the keyless
entry system and past the door panels which are just as sculpted as
the exterior, will put you into a cockpit with an AM/FM/CD system
with sculpted in seamless Bose speakers in the door panels, dual
zone electronic A/C, a drivers info center on the dash above the
console, cruise control, power locks and power windows. Black
carpeting is covering the floors, including the rear storage/cargo
area which is accessible from the interior or through the trunk.
This car looks fast even on the inside.
Drivetrain
Speaking of fast, we turn our attention to the heart of the matter
in the 5.7 liter LS-1 fuel Injected V8 nestled under the forward
tipping hood in a clean and highly detailed engine bay. On the back
is attached a 4-speed 4L60E automatic transmission, and for the
rear axle a 2.59 ratio and is limited slip. All this putting a
nicely powerful 350 horses. I'm blasting through this yellow light,
hold on!
Undercarriage
Very clean, nothing but black painted steel and stainless steel and
cast aluminum suspension. Very sound with no rust or surface rust.
4-wheel power disc brakes with ABS are noted, along with traction
control and a tire pressure monitor.
Drive-Ability
Runs like you are on your way to a 4 alarmer! Ah yes, a fast car
for sure, handles like it's on rails, stops on a dime, and offers
up comfort and convenience for the driver and passenger alike.
Fully functional and a hoot to drive, we returned to our Hallowed
Halls with smiles on our faces. While Classic Auto Mall represents
that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we
cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of
your purchase.
Turn the key and you're off like a prom dress, a Quicksilver streak
if you will. Feeling' like a shiny new dollar coin? Visit the North
hallway and you will be duly impressed.
