Vehicle Description
Cruisin Classics is pleased to present this 1967 Ford Galaxie 500
convertible for your consideration. This drop-top beauty was born
with red paint and a red interior, but it comes to us today dressed
in a nice driver-quality maroon coat with a crisp black top and
black interior. Up front is a sculpted muscular hood with a pointed
center and FORD block lettering across the forward edge. Beneath
the hood is a horizontally split grey grille flanked by stacked
headlights in bright bezels. A gleaming chrome bumper that follows
the pointed angle of the hood completes the front end's cool look.
Looking down the gently curving "coke-bottle" sides you'll see grey
and black body trim that starts at the front bumper and flows to
the rear, curving over the wheel openings. Both fenders feature
forward-leaning "390" badges that add to the sporty look. Bright
window trim, door handles, and side mirror at some visual pop to
the long maroon sides. The black power-operated convertible top is
in fabulous condition and features a glass rear window. The wheel
and tire choice is spot-on for this car with bright 15" Crager SSs
wrapped in white-letter BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. Accenting the
wheels on all 4 corners are chrome and black rubber mudflaps - a
nice touch. "GALAXIE 500" lettering graces the rear quarters and
leads the eye to the back of the car. In the back you'll find
another gleaming chrome bumper, cool "all-in-one" taillights, and
dual polished exhaust tips that emit an awesome sound courtesy of A
set of Cherry Bomb mufflers.
Lift the big hood to reveal a clean black engine bay with an
era-correct 390ci V-8 dressed in a coat of deep Ford Blue. The big
V-8 is topped with stock heads, blue valve covers and intake, a new
Edelbrock AVS2 650cfm 4-barrel carburetor, and a blue air cleaner.
Ignition is stock, as are the cast exhaust manifolds. The 390 sends
power to the wheels with a 3-speed C6 automatic transmission and a
9" Ford rear axle. Stopping power is provided by 4-wheel manual
drum brakes with a dual reservoir.
Open the driver's door to find a black interior lit by working
courtesy lights. The door cards are black vinyl with bright trim
and woodgrain accent panels that have puckered a bit with age. The
driver's door features an interior toggle control for the side
mirror and both doors have cranks for the vent windows and really
unique flip-up door handles. Bright sill plates and good-looking
black hook loop carpet welcome you inside for a seat. Both the
front and rear black vinyl bench seats are in very good condition
with only light signs of wear. The carpet is kept looking nice with
black carpeted logo floormats. Ahead of the driver is a
vinyl-wrapped OEM steering wheel with a horn ring and padded center
cap. The shifter for the automatic transmission is on the column,
but the shift indicator markers are no longer there. The wide black
vinyl dash is crack-free, though it has experienced some slight
warping over the years. The steering wheel frames a wide 120mph
speedometer with an odometer that reads 60,315 miles (the title
says N/A miles). Beneath the speedometer is a silver and black
lower section that is home to a knob for the working 2-speed
wipers, a knob for the lights, a switch for the working power top,
a fuel gauge, warning lights for oil/temp/alt, a non-working
original AM push-button radio, and working heat, fan, and vent
controls. Mounted under the dash is an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo that
plays your favorite cruisin' tunes through a dash speaker that
sounds good. Ahead of the front passenger is a red-painted dash
section with a woodgrain trim piece beneath it. This section is
home to an ashtray and a glovebox with a working light. Around the
back, you'll find a clean trunk with a full spare, jack, and 2 6X9
speaker boxes just waiting to be hooked up.
