Here we have a real unicorn! Many didn't even know Ford built this. A Ranchero from the LTD II family. A short generation of Ranchero that only ran from 1977-1979. The 7th generation of the Ranchero and last.
This is an extremely original example wearing it's original blue paint and it's original, optional Brougham interior and with just 48,812 miles showing on the odometer which is believed to be true and original miles. The overall originality of the car certainly backs that up!
We are selling this as part of an estate liquidation for a local family so we don't know a whole lot about the cars history other than the fact that it was brought here by it's most recent owner from California where it had supposedly always resided. Looking at the sheet metal and undercarriage, we believe it. Not stripped but equipped too! COLD A/C, working original AM/FM stereo, tilt steering and the gauge package. A 351 CID V8 sits under the hood and of course, you have an automatic transmission, power steering and brakes. An excellent running and driving car.
So what we have here is an original, survivor car. We spent some serious time on the paint to bring back it's original luster and we were mostly successful. Still though, the paint is almost 50 years old so there is some aging, patina and a scrape here and there. The bed is in outstanding condition. This never looks to have been worked very hard at all! I wish we knew the back story. If these cars could only talk! Reasonably priced, unique and turn key. Collectible? I'd say. Easy to operate and maintain? Absolutely!
