48,800 actual miles! She's a sweetheart, a smooth operator. This
Cadillac has won a dozen AACA awards including first place senior
Grand national, 1st place preservation awards, plus many more. An
elderly man purchased the car in 1988 with 34,000 miles and the car
was completely original. He won the award in the late 80s, early
90s. It has been very well cared for since with very few miles
added. The rust free metal, interior, chrome and even the top are
believed to be original. It's had only 1 repaint.
EXTERIOR: What is stylish body, I love the rear quarter panels with
the wings on top and bottom. It is completely rust free with all
original metal. The body shop that painted the car said it was the
cleanest body he has seen. All the gaps are square and flush, the
doors shut like new. It is absolutely straight and even after all
those years there's no rust or bubbling. Repainted it's original
Olympic White color, is has a very smooth and glossy finish. The
door jambs are actually original and practically spotless, the
weatherstrips are even original and still look great. All the
chrome is claimed to be original and was removed when the car was
painted. The chrome and trim still sparkle! The glass is crystal
clear, even the windshield which I believe is original. The
previous owner claimed the white top is original, he just replaced
the plastic rear window. We replaced the hydraulic lines and bled
the system, it works smoothly. It has reproduction white wall
tires; the hubcaps are in pristine shape! A few of its award badges
are proudly displayed on its grill.
INTERIOR: What a beautiful interior and it's original! All genuine
leather still in amazing shape, the owner said he replaced a
portion of the driver's lower seat upholstery. The door panels are
mint, there's a piece of stainless with a pattern which isn't even
worn. The dash pad is mint, all the trim, knobs, gauges are still
in excellent shape. Even the ashtray is still clean. This is an
unabused, wonderfully preserved interior.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is a very clean, very well preserved
engine compartment. It has it's original numbers matching 390-325
HP motor that runs smooth as a Rolex watch. It is completely
authentic: valve covers, air cleaner, windshield washer system etc.
The metal surfaces have clean, original paint and the hinges and
bolts still have original cadmium plating.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The huge trunk compartment is lined with the
original black carpet and has a spare and complete jack assembly
including the wood block to put under the tire. A car cover is
included.
UNDERSIDE: It is absolutely rock solid, rust free metal. The floors
have not been patched or repaired. It has been maintained as
needed, looking up at the motor and the transmission they've been
neatly painted. It is a 4-speed Hydra-Matic transmission. The
exhaust looks new with a stainless steel Flowmaster muffler.
SERVICE: Our shop inspected the car, and we replaced the oil pan
gasket, valve cover gasket, high beam bulb, strut rod bushings,
battery hold down, hydraulic hoses for the top and bled the system.
We tightened the right front wheel bearing and adjusted the
brakes.
I have been around thousands of antique cars over the years, and
this is what I call a "sweetheart". Just a smooth running,
functioning car that has been very well cared for with a lot of
original qualities. There are so many restored and resurrected
cars, these survivors are much more difficult to find. Well, guess
what? I found one for you.
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
