Handcrafted in Ventura California by Hurri Kane Ltd., in 1981, by owner and designer Darald Kane- hence the name - This is NOT a kit car. This car has custom body styling based on the famous 1932 Duesenberg and also similar to the Gatsby Cabriolet models, originally priced over $60,000 new (in 1981).
Titled as a 1981 Hurricane and built on a Ford LTD/Mercury Grand Marquis chassis with a 5.0 liter Ford V8 302 motor, Holley carb, oversized radiator, automatic w/overdrive, tilt steering, air & heat, Nardi signature edition wood steering wheel, Connally navy blue leather interior, a 1" thick walnut burlwood dash, navy blue custom Hartz Stayfast canvas top & top boot, cruise control, teak on the hood and running boards, fold down chrome luggage rack with teak wood accents, dual side mounted spares w/covers, roll up windows, side supercharger pipes, 2-piece metal winged hood, newer Coker wide white sidewall tires, 6 real wire rims, twin fog lamps, power brakes & steering.
This car has always been garaged and never seen winter roads. The car was built on a specially reinforced frame and has engineered suspension. The drivetrain was moved back by approx. 32" for a 50-50 weight ratio, resulting in superior ride quality and exceptional cornering. The car weighs 3,420 lbs., is 15.5 feet long, with a 114-inch wheelbase, is 55 inches high, and has a 21-gallon gas tank.
