Zoom Classic Cars presents this 1935 Ford Custom Pickup. This build
has just been completed by the team at Hot Rod Services of MA who
are very well known for their custom builds. Starting with a new
chassis from Riley Automotive, it ties together with custom
crossmembers and features a 9-inch Ford rear suspended in place by
a combination of slider-style parallel leaf springs and chrome tube
shocks. Up front, a Super Bell dropped axle with early Ford-style
spindles is deftly matched to a traverse leaf spring combined with
chrome hairpins and matching tube shocks steering through a Vega
box. When it's time to drop anchor; a dual master moves fluid
through steel lines to front disc and rear drum brakes. It's all
linked to the street through a set of 16-inch steelies wearing big
"n" little Excelsior brand radials for a beautiful stance.Nothing
says traditional hot rod better than a 1959 Cadillac 390ci V-8
between the 'rails. This low-mile original was treated to a rare
Cadillac Eldorado three-deuce intake topped by a trio of rebuilt
Rochester 2G carbs with frog-mouth scoops. It sparks to life
through a stock distributor with PerTronix electronic ignition with
matching coil and cloth-style plug wires. Cool details include cast
aluminum finned valve covers, and new aluminum radiator with
electric fan. It moves the goods though a rebuilt GM TH400
automatic trans with a fresh torque converter through a Wilcap
adapter to a custom driveshaft.Starting with a rust-free California
cab, it was chopped 3 3/8-inches by Hot Rod Services who also
mirrored all interior garnish moldings and windshield frame to
match. The truck wears an original modified 1935 Ford grille shell
and features a bevy of custom updates including the firewall, cab
floors, transmission tunnel ,grille shell filler panel and brand
new shortened steel bed with custom floor all by Father Ray's Metal
Craft. The cab and bed were then metal finished and gapped to
prepare it for paint. George Bourikas of Perfection Auto in Quincy,
Massachusetts, then laid down a 2-stage coating of Sherwin Williams
custom gray and black bringing it all to life. Other fine details
include tinted glass, Guide headlights with HID lamps and internal
turn signals, under bed battery box with shutoff, Fragola fuel
lines and fittings and 16-gallon bed-mounted spun aluminum fuel
tank.Inside the cab it's all business with the restored factory
dash filled with Wings gauges from Stewart Warner along with
2-additional dials mounted in the glove box. A sprint-style
steering wheel moves the flow through a custom column while shifts
click through a Lokar stick and a fresh wiring harness ties it all
together. Finally, a black vinyl bench provides plenty of comfort
for those long cruises. Call Jeff to schedule an appointment to see
this great Truck. Stored in MA with clean title in the owner's
name. Thanks for Looking.
