Vehicle Description
Zoom Classic Cars is proud to present this beautiful 1972 Dodge
Charger SE. The 1972 Dodge Charger SE is a classic American muscle
car known for its striking design, powerful performance, and iconic
presence. With its sleek lines, aggressive stance, and potent
engine options, the Charger SE embodies the bold spirit of the era
and continues to capture the hearts of automotive enthusiasts and
collectors. This classic maintains the original visual appeal of
the seventies, while holding some special upgrades under the hood.
The current owner purchased the car in 1977, when it had 101,000
miles on it. It has been driven approximately 56,000 miles since
that time. For the past ten years it has been garage kept with less
than 200 miles annually, to go to local car shows. The odometer
reads over 557,000 miles. About four years ago the first digit on
the odometer went from 1 to 5. The true mileage is approximately
157,000. The car was originally orange in color and was repainted
orange in 1989. In addition to that fresh paint job the vehicle
received brand new quarter panels at that time. In 1995 the current
owner had it painted its current blue. The paint has held up
wonderfully, and the seller would rate it a 9 out of 10. There are
no signs of rust, and the vehicle has been painted underneath as
well. The vehicle originally had a 318 engine, then in 1994 was
changed to a 383. In 2005 that engine was rebuilt to a 456. This
engine delivers impressive horsepower and torque, providing
exhilarating acceleration and a distinctive muscle car soundtrack.
Coupled with the 727 three speed slapstick transmission with a high
stall converter that was rebuilt and installed at that same time
this Charger SE offers an engaging and thrilling driving
experience. The windshield wipers have been removed and the horn
works intermittently. The vehicle is equipped with power steering
and updated power disc brakes. Over 20 years ago the
stainless-steel dual exhaust was installed. The vehicle
speedometer, fuel gauge, voltage meter, and original AM radio all
work properly. In 1991 the interior upholstery was redone and shows
hardly any signs of wear. The floors feature the original carpet.
The vehicle features Cragar mag wheels & Cooper Cobra tires which
are only about four years old. The vehicle got a new battery in
2021. In summary, the 1972 Dodge Charger SE represents an iconic
chapter in American automotive history, offering a blend of
performance, luxury, and attitude that continues to resonate with
enthusiasts and collectors. Its timeless design and undeniable
presence make it a sought-after classic for those who appreciate
the raw power and enduring charisma of a true American muscle car.
