Zoom Classic Cars is proud to present this classic muscle car, a
1969 Hemi Road Runner with 31,500 original miles. This is an all
original, numbers-matching (with the exception of the paint color)
classic. The current owner has owned the vehicle for almost 30
years. The vehicle underwent a meticulous nut and bolt restoration
over 35 years ago to exacting standards. Since that time, it has
experienced less than 2000 miles on the road. Due to the quality of
the work done during the restoration, and the care taken since
then, the paint and chrome still appear as if they were just
completed and polished. Ten years ago, the 426 Hemi V-8 motor, and
Torque-Flite 3 Speed Automatic transmission were completely rebuilt
to exacting standards by Richard Conley (who was a builder for a
NASCAR team) at Richard Conley Racing in Escondido, California. The
motor work was done to a high standard, it revs fast, performs
exceptionally, and will turn over 8000 rpm. The vehicle starts
right up with no piston slap, and no smoke and has experienced less
than 500 miles since the rebuild. The vehicle is pristine inside
and out. In addition to the original engine block and transmission,
the carburetor and distributor tags match the vehicle. It has all
the original body panels, with pictures of the restoration included
as well. The original paint was F8, Ivy Green Poly. During the nut
and bolt restoration the vehicle was stripped, and repainted to
another 1969 paint code, *999 Rallye Green (which is rare to find a
vehicle originally painted in this color). The vehicle is equipped
with an automatic transmission on the column, power steering, power
brakes, front disc brakes, front bucket seats, and redline bias
belt tires. All gauges, headlights, taillights, wipers and the
original AM/FM radio work. The antenna is being replaced as it was
bent. The vehicle has a clean California title in the seller's name
and needs nothing. Within the last year the vehicle has had an oil
change, new spark plugs installed, and new red line tires. The
vehicle comes with a two-inch thick binder filled with
documentation of mileage and the work that has been done to the
vehicle from the restoration to the engine rebuild. In the 1969
model year, 84,510 Road Runners were produced, of which 48,549 were
Hardtops like this one. Doing a quick bit of math, that means only
0.4819 percent of the Hardtops featured the Hemi engine. We'd
define that as rare. With our research it appears that of the 421
Hemi Road Runners that year, only 187 were automatic, making this
vehicle even more rare and collectible. This would be a stunning
addition to any collection. If you're looking for a classic with
extensive documentation, high value, and outstanding condition,
this is the vehicle for you! The vehicle has a clean title, is
located in Escondido, California and the asking price is $149,000.
