Vehicle Description
Having trouble with the lack of trunk space in your Viper? Need
something that can haul lumber at 150 MPH? Looking for something
Viper-powered to tow your Viper to the race track? If you answered
"yes" to any of those questions, this 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 is the
fast-paced utility you've been longing for!
OF COURSE IT'S RED
Combining a brutal Viper V10 with a tough Tremec 6-speed and a
performance-tuned suspension, the Ram SRT-10 is the pinnacle of
performance truck evolution, and, quite frankly, one of the fastest
full-sized pickups ever built. In fact, it's probably the closest
Chrysler engineers ever came to duplicating the SR 1 Viper moxie of
'keep it simple and make it fast'. This particular SRT-10, a clean,
39,520-mile land rocket, has been fastidiously maintained since it
rolled out of the showroom. Vivid Flame Red Clear Coat is crisp and
glossy, casting spectacular reflections across a short wheelbase
body. And the truck's entire look is buff and buckled thanks to
sporty, SRT-spec trim that includes massaged rockers, revised
bumpers, an aggressive hood and a wide spoiler.
THE VIPER WITH A BED
With 505 cubic inches, 500 horsepower and 525 lb./ft. of torque,
this Ram's Viper V10 is so powerful it launches this 5,200-pound
truck almost as quick as the catapult on the USS Abraham Lincoln
hurls fighter jets! Because Viper is as Viper does, that Viper mill
feeds a Viper-spec Tremec T56 6-speed. Out back, a tough Dana 60
axle twists an anti-spin differential around serious, 4:10 gears.
The suspension has been heavily tweaked from standard fare,
beginning with stiffer springs and aggressive Bilstein shocks.
Those bones, lowered one inch up front and 2.5 inches out back, are
structured around a horizontal damper that attempts to control axle
hop. Reactions are quick thanks to lucid power steering. With the
aid of performance ABS, bright red calipers squeeze a combination
of 14 and 15-inch discs. And at the corners, handsome,
Viper-inspired wheels spin massive 305/40ZR22 Toyo Proxes STs.
TIMELESS TRUCK STYLE
At first glance this Dodge's interior is standard-issue truck, with
acres of Dark Slate Gray surfacing accented by conveniences that
are familiar to any Ram owner. Then you notice the sporty seat: a
leather and suede split-bench that features full power adjustment
for the driver. Speaking of the driver, a tilting, leather-wrapped
steering wheel feels as natural as the rig's tall Hurst shifter. A
tasteful dash hangs power-adjustable pedals beneath silver-face
telemetry, factory air and upscale Infinity audio. And naturally,
this pickup is loaded with era-correct essentials like power
windows, power door locks, Cruise Control, heated power mirrors,
Remote Keyless Entry and a sliding rear window.
There's no doubt SRT-10s, whether Ram or Viper, will remain
highly-sought collectibles. The cool thing about this one is, it's
nice enough to covet and sorted enough to enjoy on the road. Call,
