Engine and transmission rebuild in 2006. New brake system 2006. New fuel tank & lines 2006. Hood and engine bay repainted 2006. Rare Coral Sand color. Manual steering/brakes. Pros: This is a solid, rust free, one owner vehicle and is in excellent mechanical condition. Rebuilt engine and transmission are both very strong. Excellent brakes. I would drive this car anywhere on the continent. A dependable daily driver. Cons: slight tear in the seat (left hand side of center section). Operation of the passenger side window is a little stiff. Although headliner is in excellent condition, the wind lace is loose in spots.
This Thunderbird was purchased in early 1958 from Warren Anderson Ford in Riverside California by my mother. My mother drove the car daily until 1983. The car was then parked in the garage where it stayed until 2005. In 2005 it was taken to Prestige Thunderbird in Santa Fe Springs, CA, where it had its engine, transmission, brake and fuel systems completely rebuilt. The car received Prestige Thunderbird’s complete engine compartment detail treatment. The hood was also repainted. The interior, including headliner was redone in 2007. Upgrades are: aluminum radiator, auxiliary electric pusher fan, generator to alternator conversion, factory looking Bluetooth radio, USB charging port. Coral Sand. This Thunderbird comes with the factory hardtop as well as Prestige Thunderbird black canvas top, which was purchased new in 2020. Original FoMoCo seatbelts. This daily driver is in need of a paint job (it was repainted in 1979) and minor interior touch ups. This Thunderbird is a go anywhere, anytime vehicle. I would not hesitate to drive this Thunderbird anywhere in the country.
