Audax design Hillman Minx the Series III 1959.
"Minx" was a saucy name for the venerable Hillman Motor Company. It
would become one of the most popular small family cars imported
from Great Britain. The Hillman Minx was a mid-sized family car
that British car maker Hillman produced from 1931 to 1970. From the
mid-1950s to the mid-1960s, the Minx and its derivatives were the
greatest-volume seller of the "Auadax" family of cars. The love of
these is so strong there is "The Hillman Owners Club." They hold
events and even a monthly newsletter.
In 1959 the Minx was given a new, larger engine 1494cc revised gear
and axle ratios, new clutch and steering mechanisms and a revised
exhaust system. Inside, the fascia is redesigned to include all the
gauges and controls in one panel, and (optional) heater. The floor
mounted gear lever became the standard.
The Hillman Minx gives you economy with exciting performance. The
see-everything visibility with unshakeable stability for greater
safety on today's roads. The Hillman has been restored to show
standards. The craftsmanship speaks for itself in the number of
awards it has received. This has got to be the best value for the
money in its class. Every detail is correct all new chrome and
polished bright work. The paint is as close to perfect as it comes.
Not one rock chip or scratch! The interior is beautiful. The engine
compartment has all the factory details. This has got to be the
finist '59 Minx available. Comes with all paperwork of the
