Driven is delighted to offer for sale this 11k mile 997.1 GT3RS in
Black with Special Orange Trim. The first 997.1 GT3RS was a
homologation special to make the 997.1 GT3 ready to race.
2-1/2''wider at the rear than the standard GT3, it weighed 44
pounds less due to lighter weight body panels and a gorgeous
carbon-fiber rear wing. The GT3RS makes a stated 415 horsepower and
300 ft-lb of torque, but the way it applies the power makes the
official Porsche figure seem under-reporting. The 3.6 liter flat-6
revs to an 8,400-rpm redline, and the intense wail it lets out will
send shivers through the spine of anyone fortunate enough to be
within its proximity. 410 997.1 GT3RS were sold in USA and 42 in
Canada. With limited supply, market prices have been on a steady
upwards trajectory for the past 5 years. This GT3RS is said to have
had a track incident at about 4,000 miles. Front fenders and oil
coolers were replaced to factory specifications. Additionally, a
Shark Werks center muffler bypass has been installed. Recent
maintenance includes: Michelin Pilot Sport tires; replacing the
rear main seal; replacing the spark plugs, coils, drive belts,
fluids and filters. This low-mile GT3RS would make a great daily
driver or track toy. It comes with 2-keys, factory manuals, and a
book of service records going back to original ownership.
