Classic Car Addict is excited to present this 1973 Ford Mustang
Mach 1 351 for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. 1973 was the
last year of the first-generation Mustangs. The early 1970 Mustangs
were all about power and luxury. With the 1973 oil crisis and
subsequent stock market crash, Ford felt the need to go back to the
drawing table and produce a new Mustang that would better fit the
needs of the current world. Yes, 1973 was the last year of the Ford
muscle car!
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench that have
been reupholstered in black vinyl. Interior appointments include
air conditioning, a Phil Co AM/FM stereo, a center console, a
folding rear seat, and front shoulder belts. The wood steering
wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and a
fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 74,206 miles. The
carpet is in excellent shape (no stains) and the headliner is
new.
Originally finished in Blue Glow (3K), the car was refinished in
maroon under current ownership about 10 years ago. The car features
a Mach 1 grille, dual scoop hood, front and rear spoilers, dual
side mirrors, black Mach 1 graphics, and dual exhaust outlets. The
15" Magnum 500 wheels are mounted to BF Goodrich Radial T/A's,
front wears 225/60R15's (DOT 2018) and rear wears 245/60R15's (DOT
2019). The car is equipped with power steering and braking is
handled by power front disc and rear drums.
The 351ci H-code Cleveland V8 is topped by a Holley four-barrel
carburetor. Shifting is through a three-speed automatic
transmission, and the conventional rear end is equipped with 2.75:1
gears. The 351 Cleveland had a more sophisticated design, featuring
larger ports, a higher compression ratio, and a more aggressive
camshaft. This allowed for better airflow and higher RPM
potential.
