Extremely rare and desirable factory Daytona Blue with red
interior! 1 owner the last 46 years! Although there are no
production #s available you can Google it yourself and you will
find maybe 8, 10 or even 20 were made. Regardless, it is rare! A
top Corvette judge verbally verified the trim tag IS original for
me before I bought the car. We bought it from a gentleman that
owned it since 1976, the title proves it.
EXTERIOR: Original Daytona Blue, code 916. Of course, the split
window needs no introduction, it has been the most desirable body
style of all the Corvettes over time. This body presents very well
and has an older repaint. The paint also presents well with a great
shine. One area has tiny pimples and there are several flaws. The
bumpers, taillights, antenna, and grills on the hood look fresh.
The headlight motors were just replaced. Original spinner hubcaps
are wrapped in American Classic tires that look new.
INTERIOR: This is a factory red interior car verified on the
original trim tag, code 490L. We did freshen it up with new front
carpets and floor mats. We also installed new seat covers and
decided to upgrade to genuine leather which was a factory option.
We replaced or repaired the gauges and they all function including
the clock. It has the correct 6,500 redline tachometer for a fuel
injection motor. We installed a new glovebox door which is one year
only, and we even fixed the glovebox light. We also upgraded it
with a retro stereo and new speaker. We replaced the 4-speed
shifter with a correct reverse lockout out. The door panels and
headliner look great.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has the very potent 327-360 horsepower fuel
injected motor. The casting code and dates are proper for the car
The codes and VIN number stamped on the pad are also correct. It
has a correct 1963 fuel injection system that is functioning very
well and I think it looks really cool too!
UNDERSIDE: It has independent front and rear suspension, that was a
first for Corvettes. Our shop inspected the suspension and steering
it's in good shape and has definitely been maintained over the
years We did replace front sway bar end links. We just installed an
entire reproduction dual exhaust system including the clamps, heat
shields and polished tips going out through the valance. It has
drum brakes at all four corners, the e-brake is hooked up. Looking
up at the motor it is clean Chevy orange, the starter looks new, it
has the correct canister type oil filter and lower ignition
shielding. The T10 4-speed is dated 1963 and VIN number matched to
this car. The rear end is also dated to this car. The fiberglass
floors look to be in really nice, no obvious damage. It also has
the complete spare tire carrier in great shape.
SERVICE: We spent about $15,000 servicing this car. Underneath we
replaced the shift rods and front swaybar links. Inside the car we
replaced the seat covers, shifter and boot, the pedal pads,
armrests, glove box door, dash bulbs, window cranks, amp gauge,
fuel gauge, glove box light and ashtray door. We repaired the
clock, blower, temp gauge, headlight switch and horn contacts. We
installed a retro stereo and new speaker. For the exterior we
replaced the vent window regulator, rocker moldings, weatherstrips,
vent window seals, headlight motors and limit switches. We adjusted
the door handle mechanism and repositioned the wipers.
The rare colors are the reason we bought this Split Window.
Extremely rare and desirable equals a great investment, especially
in the Corvette world. You could own a Corvette that very few
people in the world could say they own!

to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
