Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is proud to present this stunning 1969 Chevrolet
Camaro Z/28 RS, a pinnacle of American muscle car engineering and
design. Introduced as part of the Camaro's first generation, the
Z/28 option was Chevrolet's response to the Trans-Am racing series.
It was designed specifically for competition, with its high-revving
302 V8 engine, providing an ideal balance of power and handling to
meet the series' 5.0-liter displacement limit. Coupled with a
manual transmission, this Z/28 RS offers the raw driving experience
that enthusiasts seek.
The Rally Sport (RS) package brings distinctive cosmetic upgrades,
including the signature hideaway headlights, unique grille, and
chrome accents, which add an extra layer of style to the Z/28's
aggressive performance-focused design. This particular example has
been meticulously restored by Antique Auto Restorers, with just
10,000 miles driven since its full restoration.
The X33 Code Z28 RS offered here comes dressed in Hugger Orange
exterior paint with black stripes with black vinyl roof over black
standard interior. Like many Z28's, the engine block has been
replaced with a casting code 3970010 small block Chevy V8 that has
been professionally built, it features correct aluminum intake,
correct holly 4 barrel carb, correct aluminum valve covers etc.
Powered is transferred via its Muncie 4 speed transmission and
applied by its 12 bolt Positraction rear end. Other highlights
include power steering, power brakes, chambered exhaust, smog
equipment, exterior trim decor, bucket seat, console with gauges,
clock, 7000 rpm tach Hurst shifter, 15 inch wheels with trim rings
and center hats, white letter tires, front and rear spoilers,
etc.
Chevrolet only produced a limited number of Z/28s, and even fewer
with the RS package, making this car a rare find for collectors.
The Z/28's 302 V8 engine, originally developed for racing, is known
for its ability to deliver high RPM performance while maintaining
excellent handling, making it one of the most desirable Camaros of
all time. On the track, the Z/28 earned its reputation as a fierce
competitor, helping Chevrolet secure victories in the SCCA Trans-Am
racing series.
Whether you're looking to dominate at car shows or take this muscle
legend for a thrilling drive, this 1969 Camaro Z/28 RS represents
the peak of Camaro performance and style during the golden age of
American muscle.
