The Nissan 300ZX was a Japanese sports car that was produced across
two different generations. It was originally known as the Z car (or
the Fairlady Z in Japan) but the X would be added as a carryover
from its predecessor, the 280ZX. The thought was to signify the
presence of more luxury and comfort oriented features. The Z31
model was the 300ZX and produced from 1983 to 1989. It was a huge
success becoming the highest volume Z-car for Nissan. These cars
came with a slightly higher price than previous years as Japan
designed it to be faster and feature more advanced technology. This
1987 is in excellent condition and has largely been redone. It has
119,543 original miles but don't let that scare you because the car
comes with a ton of receipts and anytime something needs attention
it gets addressed. It was originally sold out of Bedford, Texas and
resides with its original owner. It has been used as a commuter car
for most of its life and has recently received a cosmetic
restoration. The paint is a White pearlescent that has been redone
and it got a full color sand/buff within the recent few years to
give it an excellent finish. The glass is in good condition
throughout and these models came with removable t-tops. The tinting
has all been redone. The exterior electrical all works properly
with the headlight motors being replaced in 2022 and the entire
headlamp assembly in 2024. The car rides on its original alloy
wheels and the P205/65R15 Falken tires were replaced in August
2022.
This was a unique year for the manufacturer with the introduction
of Japan's first mass produced EFI V6 instead of the inline sixes
used previously. This new 60 degree V6 helped to uphold the sporty
nature of the cars but in a compact and efficient package. The car
looks very clean under the hood and runs very well. It receives
regular tune ups and has had multiple components replaced over time
from small features like a new distributor and new fuel filter to
larger items like the muffler/tailpipe. The car cruises around
great and the 5 speed manual transmission moves through the gears
smoothly. It was ordered from the factory with power steering,
power disc brakes, and 4 wheel independent suspension. All of the
receipts outlining the various improvements are available for
review.
The interior of the car is all Tan leather and is in immaculate
condition. In cars of this vintage the insides tend to start
showing their age first just from being driven. However, this one
has all been redone including the seat upholstery, carpet,
headliner and side plastics. It features a lot of stock components
but does have a new touch screen IPS stereo with bluetooth, remote
control, mic and rear view camera. The speakers have all been
replaced as well and it sounds great. These cars came with digital
instruments and all are working properly. Pop open the rear hatch
and you will see the nice new carpet plus plenty of extra storage
space.
These Nissans are very unique sports cars and are officially a
"classic." They have quite the following and you are going to have
a tough time finding one that has been better cared for than this.
There has been a bunch of money invested into it, all of which is
documented and it also comes with its original window sticker.
It is being offered up at the very reasonable price of $18,500.00!
