-Black with Red leather interior, Green Piping, Green carpeting,
restored, Twin carb 3.8-liter engine, 4-speed manual gearbox with
overdrive, Well-serviced with upgrades.
Elegant and sporty, the 3.8 Mk 2 was one of the fastest four-door
saloons in its day. It was stunning to look at and exceptional to
drive. The 3.8 utilized a twin-carburetor variant of the engine for
the E-Type. It shared the same block, crank, connecting rods and
pistons. With 220bhp, the engine hauled the MK 2 to a top speed of
126mph. E-Type power in this sporty saloon packs quite the vintage
punch, it is great fun to drive.
This Mk 2 was produced on November 21st, 1961, and sold through
Jaguar Cars, New York to its first owner in Washington DC. With a
plethora of history and service records this Mk 2 always received
proper maintenance and care regardless of use. This includes a full
repaint, full retrim/reupholstery, upgraded wheels. Anything and
everything has always been serviced and well-kept to ensure it was
always in exceptional mechanical and cosmetic condition.
The most recent owner (during this year) fully serviced the brake
system, new clutch with lightweight flywheel, new tires, foglamps
plus made further improvements including fitting modern air
conditioning, alloy radiator, hi torque starter, dynalite
generator, modern sound system with Bluetooth and rear-view
camera.
All systems work as they should. In excellent condition throughout.
A recent road test attests its being in excellent mechanical
condition and extremely fun to drive. This Mk 2 includes its
original tool kit, spare wheel, service records and copy of Jaguar
Heritage Trust Certificate. This Mk 2 represents a great value for
a collector or enthusiast seeking an enjoyable and fun vintage
Jaguar sports saloon.
