This 2005 Ford GT is a gorgeous American-made Supercar that is
equipped with all 4 options and is an absolute blast to drive! For
nearly 100 years, the Ford Motor Company has pushed automotive
performance to the next level among the American Big Three
Automakers. Starting back in the early 1930s, Ford introduced the
first V8 motor for an American production automobile with that Ford
"Flatty" becoming a favorite among the earliest hot rodders and
Indycar racers. As Ford progressed into the 50s, it was an early
entrant into the arena of offering supercharged engines to the
buying public with the debut of its "F-Code" Thunderbirds. By the
early 1960s, Henry Ford II sought to develop a Ford-built
automobile to compete at the 24 Hour at Le Mans endurance race.
Initially Ford entered into talks to acquire Ferrari however the
talks were cut short by Enzo Ferrari leading to an uphappy Henry
Ford II to develop a car to beat Ferrari at Le Mans. Eventually
with the help of famed builder and designer Carroll Shelby, the
resulting automobile-the Ford GT40-would go on to win 1966 24 Hours
at Le Mans race snapping Ferrari's 6 year winning streak. In
celebration of Ford's 100th Anniversary, the Detroit automaker
debuted the GT40 concept car at the 2002 North American
International Auto Show. Surprisingly, Ford put the GT40 concept
car into production for the 2005 Model Year, now known at the Ford
GT. Due to its limited production and superb build quality, the
Ford GT was in extremely high demand from its initial 2005 debut
and that high demand continues today. The first generation GTs were
loaded with features and only 4 options were available from the
factory: painted Brembo brake calipers, BBS aluminum-forged wheels,
painted racing stripes, and a unique McIntosh Audiophile AM/FM/CD
entertainment system. Not only was the Ford GT surprisingly
luxurious for a street legal race car, they also sported impressive
performance including a top speed exceeding 200 miles per hour and
did 0-60 in a little over 3 seconds. In total, a mere 2,027 Ford
GTs were produced in 2005, which makes this particular example
quite a rare piece of automotive history. This particular example
comes to us with limited miles after spending the majority of its
time down south. Powering this '05 Ford GT is a rear-mounted 5.4
Liter dual overhead cam V8 engine equipped with an Eaton Model 2300
screw-type supercharger and sequential multi-port electronic fuel
injection with dual injectors per cylinder. This high-performance
Modular Ford V8 was said to have produced 550 horsepower and 500
lb-ft of torque when new. The Supercharged 5.4L V8 is backed by a 6
speed Ricardo manual transaxle that makes this Ford Supercar an
absolute blast to drive! This 2005 Ford GT is absolutely loaded
with performance and drivability features! Power steering makes
squeezing into a tight parking space a total breeze and makes
maneuvering around a tight corner almost effortless. Bringing this
Ford GT to a complete stop is made much easier with the help of
Brembo power disc brakes in all four corners complete with
cross-drilled and vented rotors and red-painted 4-piston monoblock
calipers. This Ford GT rides on a set of optional BBS
Aluminum-Forged wheels with P235/45ZR18 radial tires up front and
P315/40ZR19 radials in the rear, that make for a mean looking yet
smooth riding automobile. With the help of the Ford GT's impressive
aero management systems along with a limited-slip differential,
you'll be able to keep the rubber to the pavement on this
American-made Supercar. Finished in Mark IV Red paint with optional
white painted racing stripes, this '05 GT has incredible curb
appeal. The interior of this 2005 Ford GT is absolutely stunning!
The driver and passenger bucket seats a backed with carbon fiber
and sport ventilated black leather trimmed seating surfaces. Like
the exterior, the interior is outfitted with numerous options and
features! With air conditioning, you'll be able to stay cool while
cruising or racing even on the hottest summer days. This Ford GT
also comes outfitted with power side windows as well as power door
locks, which are a massive upgrade compared to the original GT40.
You can even lock and unlock the supercar with a simple click on
the keyless entry remote. The dual side mirrors are also remote
controlled which greatly improve the drivability on this Ford GT.
You'll even be able to listen to all of your tunes in this 2005 GT
since it comes outfitted with the optional McIntosh Audiophile
AM/FM/CD entertainment systems that includes two door speakers
along with a center mounted subwoofer. Whether you're adding to
your existing collection of Ford performance cars or you're buying
your very first late model collectible car, this 2005 Ford GT would
make an excellent choice. Give Ellingson's a call today at
