Intro
This is a 1987 BMW 535is painted in Alpine white over blue leather interior with the 3.4-liter inline-six mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. This 535is was bought by the seller on Bring a Trailer (https:///listing/1987-bmw-535is-54/) in 2023 and completed extensive restoration. This E28 has a clean Carfax with no reported incidents and a clean Georgia title in the seller’s name.
Exterior
The exterior is Alpine White (146) with a power-operated sunroof, a front air dam, fog lights, impact bumpers, blue pinstripes, a rear spoiler, and central twin exhaust outlets in the rear. The seller restored the exterior with new under hood sound absorber pads (3), Bilstein B8 shocks, H&R Sport Spring Set (Lowering the car 1.25"), Supersprint Catback Exhaust System and BBS RC090 restored wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and were installed on 03/23/2023. The front and rear disc brakes, calipers and master cylinder were replaced in April 2020. All windows were tinted to reduce UV exposure.
Interior
The interior is upholstered in blue leather along with a color-coordinated lower dashboard, door panels, and carpets. It has air conditioning, electric windows, cruise control, and an onboard computer. The seller added an A/C Solutions E28 retrofit AC system, replaced the cassette stereo with a Blaupunkt Frankfurt RCM 82 Bluetooth USB AUX input MP3, added new odometer gears, reupholstered the steering wheel and added a modified short shifter.
Mechanicals
This 535is has the 3.4-liter M30B34 inline-six with Bosch Motronic engine management. The seller added new parts consisting of fuel and oil hoses, replaced all fluids with fresh fluids, rebuilt the 5-speed manual transmission and added the Holy Grail Labs blade style fuse box.
