Vehicle Description
This 1961 Chevrolet Corvette is a modified example that has been
refinished in red over a Fawn interior and is powered by a
fuel-injected 350ci Ram Jet V8 crate engine mated to a Tremec
six-speed manual transmission. The car is equipped with a
paint-matched hardtop as well as a white soft top, and
modifications include Jim Meyer Racing suspension components, front
disc brakes, power rack-and-pinion steering, an Old Air Products
climate-control system, Dakota Digital gauges, and power windows.
Acquired by the previous owner in 2004, this modified C1 is now
offered on behalf of the current owner with product and brand
literature and a Washington State title. Said to have been
previously finished in Honduras Maroon, the car was repainted in
Roman Red with white side coves during the refurbishment according
to the seller, who states that the frame was refinished and the
underside, wheel wells, engine compartment, and trunk were coated
with tinted LineX textured bedliner. The replacement white
convertible soft top is shown raised above, and the included
body-color removable hardtop is pictured below. Red-painted steel
wheels measure 15in and wear full spinner-style wheel covers along
with whitewall tires. A matching spare is retained in the trunk.
Disc brakes are fitted up front, and further updates include a
power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering setup and Jim Meyer
Racing-sourced front suspension components. Bucket seats
upholstered in replacement Fawn vinyl are accompanied by
color-keyed replacements for the door panels and carpeting. The car
is equipped with a dashboard-mounted mirror and lap belts for both
occupants, and additions include an Old Air Products
climate-control system and a vintage-style stereo equipped with an
auxiliary input. akota Digital gauges are recessed within the stock
openings, and the digital odometer indicates that 1,900 miles have
been driven since completion of the build. True mileage is unknown.
The 350ci Chevrolet Performance V8 crate engine was installed
during the refurbishment and features a Ram Jet port fuel-injection
system, a centralized air intake, and polished center-bolt valve
covers. Replacement electrical wiring has been installed along with
a DeWitts aluminum radiator, an electric cooling fan, and a
stainless-steel fuel tank equipped with an in-tank pump. Stainless
headers are linked to a dual exhaust system. Power is sent to the
rear wheels through Tremec six-speed manual transmission.
Additional images showing the frame, suspension, and exhaust
components are provided in the gallery. The steering column
featuring the the factory serial number tag was replaced, and the
state of Washington assigned the identification number 10867S100262
during current ownership.
