This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad was acquired by the previous
owner in 2009 as an unfinished project and it was subsequently
refurbished, with work including replacing the door skins and
rocker panels before repainting the exterior red. Power is provided
by a 350ci V8 equipped with an Edelbrock intake and carburetor, a
COMP camshaft, PerTronix ignition, and Vortec cylinder heads, and
the car rides on a lowered suspension with drop spindles,
coilovers, tubular front A-arms, and 15? American Racing wheels
over front disc and rear drum brakes. The cabin is outfitted with
red front and rear bucket seats sourced from a late-model GTO, and
further details include Vintage Air climate control, a tilt column,
Dakota Digital gauges, power windows, and a Lokar shifter
controlling the 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. This Nomad
is offered with refurbishment records, service manuals, and a clean
North Dakota title in the seller's name. The bodywork was stripped
to bare metal and a replacement front clip and floor pans were
installed under prior ownership. The door skins and rocker panels
were replaced and the car was repainted in red circa 2011. Details
include a hood ornament, an egg crate grille, hooded headlights,
dual chrome mirrors, tinted glass, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome

aftermarket wood-rimmed steering wheel sits on a tilting column
ahead of a Dakota Digital gauge cluster. The odometer, clock, and
horn do not work. Total mileage is unknown. The replacement 350ci
V8 was installed in 2012 and was reportedly bored .030? over. It is
equipped with four-bolt main bearings, an Edelbrock carburetor and
Performer intake manifold, a COMP Cams camshaft, Vortec cylinder
heads, PerTronix ignition, and an aluminum radiator with an
electric fan, according to the seller. Exhaust gases flow from
"ram-horn" manifolds to 2.5? piping and glasspack mufflers. The
wiring harness and fuel system components are said to have been
replaced when the engine was installed. Power is sent to the rear
wheels through a Mad Dog Transmissions 700R4 four-speed automatic
that was fitted with a performance shift kit and 2k-rpm stall speed
torque converter, according to the seller. The rear differential
was overhauled and fitted with 3.31:1 gears.
