Vehicle Description
The Corvette exterior appearance stayed the same for 1960 with the
heavy teeth in the grill along with it being the final year for the
formed taillights in the body, and chrome forward headlight bezels.
An aluminum radiator with top tanks was introduced this year to aid
in better engine cooling. It was available for the carbureted 270hp
and 290hp fuel-injected engines only. For many collectors and
enthusiasts, it's the two-tone paint scheme that highlights these
incredible body lines that make them so desirable!
We are very pleased to offer this 1960 Chevrolet Corvette
Convertible finished in Honduras Maroon/ Ermine White coves over
Black Vinyl interior with matching Black convertible soft top.
Powered by its number's matching CU-code 283ci/270 horsepower V8
engine mated to a 4-speed Borg Warner T10 manual transmission and
AP-code 4.11 Posi-Traction rear axle, this beautifully tuned
Corvette has no trouble navigating the open-road! Options include
auxiliary removable hardtop, heat/defrost, fully polished wheel
covers, newer Goodyear Custom Super Cushion wide whitewall radial
tires measuring 205/75R15, original pushbutton Wonderbar AM radio,
carpeted floor mats, and added period seatbelts.
This vehicle comes from recent Missouri ownership where it was
maintained and enjoyed by a Corvette enthusiast since August 2020.
The car was a virtually untouched, all original example upon
acquisition and driven as a weekend cruiser on fair weather days
during the summer months adding approximately 1500 miles to the
odometer. In 2023, the original paint was professionally stripped
with the body prepped from a complete respray in its
factory-appointed color and driven only 100 miles since. The
results are splendid now sporting a protective base coat/ clear
coat finish! It is exceptionally original under the hood with
Carter AFB carburetors, correct 60C-dated Harrison radiator,
factory style hoses/tower clamps, date-correct Delco-Remy
generator, correct distributor, 7-finned aluminum valve covers,
clutch fan assembly, etc. for a proper, factory stock presentation.
It starts up remarkably well and hits the road with confidence!
The exterior restoration was further complimented with a brand new
black soft top and window weather seals upon arrival to the St
Louis Car Museum in September 2024, but otherwise remains original
inside including the brightwork and bumpers, all which remain in
very fine condition. We also provided an engine service with fresh
oil & filter. If you are looking for a high-quality driver that
really turns heads, performs like it should, with show worthy NCRS
scoring attributes, then this Corvette is for you! A terrific
Corvette in all respects! Please call with questions or to schedule
your chance to view it in person!
