Vehicle Description
This 1953 Mercury Monterey is a very nice driver-quality example,
owned by the original family in Florida and Tennessee until 2023.
Powered by the original 239 cu in Flathead V8, professionally
rebuilt in 2004 and upgraded to a 12-volt electrical system, this
car is as reliable as it is stylish. Paired with its original
3-speed manual transmission, it starts easily and runs smoothly,
offering a classic driving experience.
It has been repainted once in its original Bittersweet color,
accented by a Black roof. The interior retains its vintage charm
with Bittersweet and Tan vinyl upholstery, adding to the car's
authentic 1950s vibe. It comes with dual spotlights in full working
order, adding a unique touch to the exterior.
The car now rides on a new set of 20" US Mag Chrome Plated billet
wheels wrapped in radial tires, but it also comes with the original
wheels, hubcaps, bias ply whitewall tires, and fender skirts for
those who prefer a more traditional look. Additionally, it features
the desirable Continental kit and rear bumper for that iconic
Mercury profile.
With mostly nice chrome, bright work, and solid paint, this
Monterey is a great driver-quality example that turns heads
wherever it goes. As with many Flathead V8s, it is incredibly quiet
and smooth on the road. This striking 50s Mercury offers both
reliability and style, making it the perfect cruiser for someone
who appreciates classic American cars.
