Vehicle Description
This matching-numbers 1970 Pontiac Grand Prix Model J underwent a
full restoration several years ago and is powered by its original
400ci V8 engine with its factory-original manual transmission. This
car is one of 171 with a factory 3-speed manual transmission and
its performance options, confirmed by the PHS paperwork and Build
Sheet. It also has a Safe-T-Track rear with 3.23 gears. This
example is also equipped with power steering and power disc front
brakes with rear drums. It rides on Rally II wheels wrapped in
BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. This example is finished in its
original color of Dark (Atoll) Blue over its original blue
interior. The interior features bucket seats with factory console,
original sport steering wheel, factory 8-track tape player located
between the seats and Rally gauges with in-dash tachometer. All the
original controls and switches are present and work properly. The
sport steering wheel was a rarely ordered feature on the
performance GPs of the era. The detailed trunk includes the spare
and jack. All the glass appears to be original. This Grand Prix
comes from long-term ownership. The accompanying photographs,
including the underside, confirm the comprehensive restoration
performed. This well-documented example includes the original
owner's manual, Build Sheet and Protect-O-Plate. It has recently
undergone extensive detailing, paint correction and a mechanical
inspection.
