The 1957 Bel Air wasn't just a commercial success; it became a
cultural icon. It appeared in countless movies, TV shows, and even
songs, cementing its place in American pop culture. Automotive
historian Patrick Foster notes:
"The 1957 Bel Air captured the spirit of the American Dream. It was
a car that people aspired to own, representing success and
progress."
This 1957 Bel Air Sport Coupe is featured in an iconic combination
of an Onyx Black exterior with a red and black interior. This Bel
Air is powered by a 283 cubic inch engine with a 4-barrel
carburetor mated to an upgraded Turbo Glide transmission. The motor
in this Chevrolet was rebuilt approximately 3,300 miles ago and
runs impressively.
The interior upholstery and headliner were replaced with material
provided by Ciadella Interiors, Ciadella is known for their correct
reproduction materials. Additional interior features of this Bel
Air include an upgraded OEM fit Custom Autosound radio, heater with
defroster and rebuilt dash clock.
The Onyx Black paint work although older still presents well with
the classic styled tail fins and gleaming chrome and stainless
steel. From a few feet back the paint has a bright shine and looks
great, when viewed at a close range imperfections can be seen such
as light scratches, micro imperfections, and previously applied
touch ups. Reviewing the underside of this car you will find a
solid frame and floors with no areas of excessive rust or corrosion
besides a small spot starting on the passenger side lower front
fender (can be seen in photos).
The 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air has been the top of the food chain for
the Tri-Fives and this well-maintained car is a perfect
example.
