Although some may try to argue, the truth is when it comes to car
collections, we choose cars that we want other people to notice.
There's a special feeling that washes over you when you pull up to
a stop light next to a car full of children giving you thumbs up,
or asking you to rev the engine or falling over one another to get
a quick picture before the light turns green. And when it comes to
attention, few cars on earth can match the commanding presence of a
car like this 1965 Shelby Cobra Superformance. As if the sinewy
shape and muscular lines were not eye-catching enough, this car
takes things to another level (a common theme with this build) by
adding bright red paint complemented by twin full-length white
racing stripes.
Step inside the Spartan interior of this, and it's all business.
Black vinyl seats hold you in place along with the help of a set of
racing harnesses, while the three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel
dares you to find out what you're made of. Look closely, and you
see that hidden in the myriad of the Smiths Gauge cluster is a
reversed speedometer, a nod to the original Cobra setup seldom seen
on any modern replicas.
Under the hood, this Cobra packs as much venom as Carroll Shelby
had intended when he dreamt up this nightmare on wheels. A 1967
7.0-liter Side-Oiler Ford FE block that uses cross-bolted mains,
solid lifters, and two (yes, two) Holley 600 cfm four-barrel
carburetors to feed this beast before sending spent gasses through
a set of shorty headers and out through those big beautiful side
pipes. That massive power is channeled through a modern Tremec TKO
TR3550 five-speed manual transmission, allowing this car to get
better highway mileage thanks to its extra gear as compared to the
original car's four forward gears.
*857 Miles Since Built
*427 CID Side Oiler
*Solid Lifters
*Dual 600 CFM Holley Carbs
*Tremec TKO 5 Speed
*Side Pipes
*Smiths Gauges
*Adjustable Coilovers
*Four Wheel Power Disc Brakes
*Removeable Soft Top
*Racing Tonneau Cover
With just 857 miles on the clock since it was built, this 1965
Shelby Cobra Superformance has barely been broken in. Also included
in the sale is a racing tonneau cover and a removable soft top with
side windows so you don't get caught in an unexpected downpour.
While the original Cobra is obviously iconic, this modern replica
uses current technology by using an independent suspension with
adjustable coilovers at all four corners, allowing this car to stay
glued to the road or track. But no matter where you take it, just
know that if you want a car that will garner attention, few
vehicles ever created will stir the souls of onlookers quite like a
427 cubic-inch powered Shelby Cobra. Call today! We can assist you
