Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa presents this sweet 1955 Ford
Thunderbird, a classic icon of American automotive design. This
lovely bird has been in the same family since 1983! Then restored
personally by the same owner in 1987! And has been this way ever
since. It's obvious this car was well cared for. From the striking
red paint to the near mint chrome and trim, this T-bird is a head
turner. The fit and finish is awesome, and the underside is as nice
as the top. It's hard to believe the restoration is 37 years old!
The interior wears red and white vinyl on the seat with thick plume
red carpet and supple red dash pas with great looking stainless
trim and nobs across the dash. Almost looks new. The engine bay is
detailed, and everything is in its place. No hints of leaks or
neglect. In fact, the 292ci V8 fires up in an instant and idles
smooth as it should. Take the old girl for a ride and you'll be
pleased to find it runs and drives well. Except for touchy breaks
and a need for slight carb tweak, the car drives great! The roof
looks new and stores away as it should, and the Factory Hardtop is
finished in red and comes with the car. However, the hardtop is not
currently in the showroom. Come see this sharp 55 T-bird today.
It's a long-loved Family heirloom in need of a new curator. A proud
addition to any collector's fleet, or near-show ready driver for
someone to enjoy.
