I am proudly offering my '64 Galaxie 500 XL convertible for sale. I purchased this vehicle at a Mecum auction in Harrisburg, PA. Although it was in amazing condition then, I have done extensive improvements to make it a very dependable and fun car to drive. I had Jasper Motors rebuild the 390 V8 engine and transmission back to factory spec. I had the 4 barrel carburetor rebuilt, added electronic ignition, replaced the radiator with a high flow aluminum radiator and added an auxiliary fan. You'll see in the pics that I added some bling on the engine yet kept mostly a stock look under the hood. I also prepped for A/C and is ready for the under-dash unit. I also converted to an alternator. It has dual exhaust with Flow Master mufflers for a really nice but not obnoxious rumble. I added a retro look radio that has blue tooth built in and replaced the front speaker. I replaced the bias ply tires and spoke wheel covers with nice rims and radial tires. The top is in good shape although the back window is a little discolored. The body and paint is flawless. The interior is in very good shape except for a small tear in the seam of the driver seat. All gauges as well as the cigarette lighter work. The clock does not work. This is a car that you can jump in and go anywhere in. I have driven 350 miles to the beach with no issues. I have really put a lot of money and time into this car. I have over $50,000.00 invested. This is a great car and gets a lot of attention. I have done weddings, parades, proms, etc. You can't fill up without someone coming over to admire it.
