The 68 GTO Le Mans was originally restored between 2010 and 2013. It was a frame off resto mod. They did a really great job on it, especially on the engine! They literally spared no expense from lifters, rods, cam, etc. The absolute best. I have most of his receipts and he basically built it frame up spending about $80k. Unfortunately the collector let it sit for 5 yrs and that's when I bought it in 2018. I put another 4-5k in it fixing leaks and such from gaskets and seals wearing out. I also put in a vacuum pump to give it more responsive brakes, head light covers and such. It already had power brakes and steering, adjustable air shocks, elec fans in front of radiator, EZ on new top and hardware. I also added the 4 pt front seat belts and matching powder coated roll bar for added safety. The original seat belts are in the trunk and the roll bar is bolted in so it can easily be converted back to original configuration. Since it had been more than 11 years since the restoration, I had it repainted last year and while in the shop we noticed rust starting to form on the frame because it was painted not powder coated. To do it right, we went ahead and did a frame off partial restoration fixing any rust and powder coated the frame. Always garage kept. It is absolutely cherry! No rust, perfect lines, perfect hinge alignment, like new top, beautiful ceramic paint job with multiple clear coats. I have video of the engine running and it's an absolute beast! I can't go 100 yards down the road without getting a wave and if I stop for gas, a crowd wanting pics. I'm selling her because I've had my fun and now I'm restoring a 65 F100. Need garage space and fun $$ to fix up the new project.
