This 1953 Chevrolet 3100 five-window restomod features a TCI powdercoated aftermarket chassis, GM performance crate LS3 and 4L65e transmission, Ridetech adjustable coil over shocks, custom interior and Vintage Air. The truck was purchased by the current owner in August of 2020 and subsequent modifications include the installation of a suede headliner, leather wrapped steering wheel, Lokar shifter, LED turn signals/taillights, seatbelts and a custom storage trunk in the bed. The truck has a Texas title in the seller’s name. The frame off build was commissioned by the prior owner in 2018-2019.
The body was painted in raven black with body modifications including a smoothed firewall and removal of the passenger side cowl vent. New glass and rubber seals were installed along with all new chrome and new wood bed with stainless steel strips. The body modifications include a smoothed firewall and smoothed passenger side cowl vent.
Painted red wheels measure 16” all around wrapped in BF Goodrich tires with vintage Chevrolet hubcaps. Braking is provided by Wilwood four wheel discs along with an electronic E-Stopp emergency brake. The truck is equipped with power rack and pinion steering, Ridetech adjustable coilvers, tubular upper and lower control arms and a four link reared. Torque marks are present on all undercarriage bolts.
The interior features an aftermarket bench seat wrapped with contoured foam covered in tan buckskin leather with matching door and kick panels. The chrome Ididit steering column is adjustable and features a modified 55 Chevrolet Bel-Air steering wheel that is leather wrapped. The stereo system is a Retrosound unit that is Bluetooth capable. The pedals and long handle shifter are by Lokar and the black carpet is covered by custom CoCo floor mats. Both windows are powered.
The Dakota Digital gauges consist of a 160 speedometer and auxiliary gauges for fuel, amperage temperature, oil pressure and RPM’s. The odometer shows 7700 miles with approximately 6,665 miles added under current ownership.
The GM Performance LS3 engine and 4l65E transmission along with the associated controllers were purchased directly from GM. The engine features Clayton Machineworks coil pack covers and a custom cold air intake. The cooling system consists of an aluminum radiator with dual Derale fans along with a secondary Setrab Series 9 transmission cooler. Shorty heads flow through a 2.5 inch exhaust attached to dual Magnaflow mufflers. A yellow top Optima battery is mounted under the truck.
The truck rides on an aftermarket TCI chassis that was powder coated. The rearend is a Ford nine inch equipped with Currie axles. The gearing is 3.42.
