The 1963 Triumph TR3B featured here is finished in the stunning
color combination of Black over Red interior with a matching Black
folding convertible top. Per the accompanying British Motor
Industry Heritage Trust Certificate this example was completed at
Coventry, England works on October 29th, 1962. Notable is that the
car's selling dealer is recorded as Genser-Forman, Inc. of New
Jersey; one of the earliest Triumph car dealers in the Northeast
United States. Exactly when and how the car made its way to the
Show-Me State is not documented, however a Missouri State Safety
Inspection sticker on the windshield is stamped October 1997. Per
the son of the late previous owner, his father cherished the TR3B
for decades. A testament to the car's years of curated ownership in
the form of a dash plaque from the September 1988 St. Louis
regional All British Car Show can be observed from inside the
cabin.
When acquired by IT'S ALIVE! in 2022, the TR3B presented a high
degree of originality, but was not running. After addressing the
fuel and ignition systems the TR3B roared to life for the first
time in years. Additionally, under our care the interior carpet and
trunk carpets were replaced with a full red cut pile kit. Today the
vehicle's odometer displays just under 36,600 miles; a number that
is believed to represent the total mileage accrued from new.
Further evidence of the car's originality is found by examining the
visible body and engine numbers, with both serial unit numbers
matching those recorded on the Heritage Certificate. Curiously the
car's original convertible top (hood) color is recorded as being
white and not black as presented currently. A handful of period
options and accessories adorn the car today, including a chrome
luggage rack, dual AMCO wind wings, a translucent left hand sun
visor and whitewall tires. While the car does not come with the
optional Brooklands-style aero windscreens, the four support mounts
are present atop the dash today. With matching numbers and
reputedly low mileage, this TR3B represents as an outstanding
driver's quality example of this legendary British marque. IT'S
ALIVE! is proud to have preserved this iconic sports car for future
generations. If you are the next caretake of this classic, then
