For Sale: 1964 Pontiac GTO in Mansfield, Massachusetts

Vehicle Description

This is the one.  A beautiful, PHS documented 1964 Pontiac GTO Original Tri-Power.  Always garaged, only two owners, with less than 7,000 miles since the major restoration.  (Car comes with most of the receipts and the official PHS documentation.)  This is a California car and in 1964 it was sold new from Bob Longpre Pontiac in Monrovia, California.  The paint job on this car is incredible.  The car was taken apart during the restoration and professionally painted in all the door jams, under the hood and trunk, etc.  Technically the paint color is Nocturne Blue but it is a very deep dark metallic blue and almost shows as black alongside its black interior.

The engine was completely and professionally rebuilt during the restoration and it runs great. This is a fast car. Somewhere during this car's life, the Tri-Power setup was removed and replaced with the Edelbrock Power Package which consists of the aluminum manifold, cam, and Edelbrock Carb. I do not know the duration of the cam, but it has a mild lope to it and the car is very comfortable and fun to drive on the street. The car has a nice sound to it and is always complimented.  It would not take much for someone to put a Tri-Power back on this car if they prefer to have the car stock again. I thought about doing this myself at one time but the car runs so nice as it is, it’d be hard for me to justify having three carbs to mess with.

This GTO comes with the M20 4spd Muncie which shifts very well.  The Hurst linkage makes it easy to hit all the gears.  The original AM radio has had a hidden FM conversion with an auxiliary port added.  The 3rd party steering wheel that came with the restoration has since been replaced with an original four spoke wood wheel.  Every effort has been made to make this vehicle as stock and original as possible.

Although I do not have any photos currently of the underside, it is extremely nice and is completely RUST FREE. In fact, this car is completely RUST FREE. I do not know for certain, but the floor pans may have been replaced. They look too good to be original, but if they were replaced you would never know it. This is a California car, so they could very well be original.

This is the true, first and original muscle car that started it all.
