Vehicle Description
Chassis No. WBAEG2326PCB75162
Debuting at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1989, the E31
8-Series was the most ambitious and technologically advanced road
car produced by BMW since the homologated version of the M1 Group 5
race car. Underneath its sleek, two-door coupe body was an
impressively complex package featuring an industry-first electronic
drive-by-wire throttle, a multi-link rear axle, and in the
twelve-cylinder 850Ci, a V12 power plant closely related to that of
the mighty McLaren F1. Sales in North America were truncated by the
global recession of the early 1990s, making the E31 8-Series very
rare indeed.
Finished in Alpine White over Light Silver Gray leather, this
exemplary 1993 BMW 850Ci is equipped with the smooth 5.0-liter
M70B50 V12 engine, factory-rated at 296 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of
torque and mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The grand
tourer's pillarless coupe exterior features pop-up headlights, a
power-operated sunroof, and 16 inch Style 9 alloy wheels. Inside,
the cabin includes heated power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone
automatic climate control, and a CD stereo system.
The accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report shows that the BMW
was initially registered in California, remaining there for over
two decades and receiving routine maintenance at licensed BMW
dealerships. Still belonging to the original owner, subsequent
registration shows that the car spent time in Washington and
Louisiana prior to joining its second and current owner in
2023.
In December 2023, at 39,718 miles, the car received comprehensive
service at New Motors BMW. This service included replacing the oil
pan gasket, valve cover gasket, and front lower control arm, as
well as installing a new micro filter and performing an oil change.
Additionally, four new Continental Xtreme Contact tires were
mounted under current ownership. Now offered with just under 40,000
miles on the odometer, this groundbreaking grand tourer is
accompanied by its owner's manuals and trunk-mounted tool kit.
