Vehicle Description
Chassis No. P6258514
In 1965, Cadillac's venerable Sixty Special received a complete
redesign, boasting an all-new body atop an extended 133-inch
wheelbase. The following year saw the introduction of the Fleetwood
Brougham as a distinct model, elevating what had previously been a
$194 option package on the Sixty Special to the top of the Cadillac
range. Its elegant silhouette was defined by crisp lines,
fashionable vertical headlights, a gracefully elongated hood, and
subtle fins crowning the taillights. A silky-smooth 340-horsepower,
429 cu-in OHV V8, complemented by power steering and advancements
in suspension, chassis, and acoustics, resulted in one of the most
refined driving experiences of its era.
Presented in remarkably original condition, this Fleetwood Brougham
retains its factory-applied Sable Black finish, which harmonizes
beautifully with its gleaming brightwork. The Brougham-exclusive
padded Black vinyl roof also remains in good order. As the
range-topping model, the Brougham's interior rivaled the finest in
the world. The seats are luxuriously upholstered in Beige Delmont
cloth and adorned with delicate embroidered patterns on the
seatbacks. The door panels boast chromed switches for the power
windows, locks, and remote mirror accompanied by exquisitely
finished genuine walnut trim and plush carpeting. Rear-seat
passengers are treated to folding vanity trays, folding carpeted
footrests, and swiveling reading lamps for ultimate comfort. Other
original details on this nicely-specified example include automatic
air conditioning, an AM/FM stereo, automatic level control, and
steel wheels with full-diameter hubcaps and whitewall radial
tires.
Showing just over 30,769 miles, this Fleetwood Brougham was
originally sold in Rhode Island and formerly resided in the
prestigious Academy of Art University Museum collection, where it
was preserved and displayed for over a decade. Recent service work
including the installation of new brake lines, fitment of a new
brake master cylinder, and replacement of front brake drums, ensure
that this magnificent Cadillac is poised to deliver unparalleled
comfort and presence to its next owner. It is accompanied by its
original Protect-O-Plate and warranty card, owner's manual, and
Cadillac brochure.
