Vehicle Description
Chassis No. 1G1YT2D65G5700008
In 2015, the C7 Corvette Stingray was joined by the new Z06 model;
the first iteration of the high-performance trim to come with a
supercharger - and its accompanying whine - directly from the
factory. The 650 horsepower race car for the road garnered effusive
praise from every corner of the automotive press, with Car and
Driver writing, "If this is indeed the last front-engine Corvette,
it's fitting that it's the best."
The following year saw the introduction of a limited "C7.R Edition"
Z06 - a "road-going, track-capable homage to the Corvette Racing
C7.R racecars." Limited to a mere 500 examples and available in
both Coupe and Convertible body styles, all C7.R Editions came
equipped with coveted Z07 performance package. This race-bred suite
of enhancements included Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, adjustable
aerodynamic elements, and Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 tires.
Inside, the top-level 3LZ trim package adorned the cabin in
sumptuous Jet Black leather and suede with yellow contrast
stitching, complemented by interior carbon-fiber trim and
Competition Sport Seats as standard equipment.
Two exterior color options included Black, or the iconic hue of
Corvette Racing Yellow - a direct link to the C7.R's instantly
recognizable racing livery. A carbon fiber ground effects package,
visible carbon-fiber hood section, yellow brake calipers, and black
wheels with yellow accent strip and Corvette Racing-logo center
caps rounded out the bespoke exterior details of the
limited-edition model.
The car's VIN ending in 700008 identifies this as the eighth of
only 500 C7.R Editions built. Appropriately finished in Corvette
Racing Yellow, this Coupe example shows a mere 313 miles from new
at the time of cataloging and remains in exceptional, time-capsule
condition. This is exemplified by the plastic film protector still
affixed to the touch-screen display, a new-vehicle warning label
tag hanging from the rearview mirror, and a full complement of
factory accessories that accompany the car. These include a special
indoor car cover with C7.R graphics and bag, an additional
transparent removable roof panel, two keys, and more.
This time capsule of front-engine American performance offers its
next custodian a rare opportunity: the chance to acquire what is
essentially a factory-fresh example of one of Chevrolet's most
sought-after limited edition creations.
