This 1960 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe Restomod, executed by
Goolsby Customs for noted hotrod collector George Poteet,
represents countless hours of expert labor and an uncompromising
commitment to quality. Every component has been meticulously
selected, modified, or fabricated to create a cohesive blend of
1960's American design and modern performance.
The build's foundation is a state-of-the-art Rideline chassis from
Roadster Shop, featuring fully independent front and rear
suspension. This advanced setup includes rear ride-adjust
suspension, Energy Suspension bushings, and Corvette C5 brakes for
both optimal roadholding and ride quality. Powering this Impala is
a Pace Performance 378 cu-in LS3 V8 crate engine, producing 495
horsepower. The engine bay is a dizzying ensemble of
high-performance components, featuring a Lokar Performance LS
Classic Series "Tri-Power" intake setup, Ultimate Headers exhaust
headers, and a custom 2.5 inch stainless steel exhaust system with
MagnaFlow mufflers. Each component has been carefully integrated,
resulting in a burbling V8 exhaust note that commands attention and
a factory-fresh presentation under the hood. The drivetrain is
completed by a Bowler Performance 4L65-E four-speed automatic
transmission, chosen for its robust construction and ability to
handle the LS3's substantial output.
The exterior is resplendent in BASF London Grey Metallic paint,
which nicely accentuates the classic lines of the Sport Coupe. The
quality of the paintwork is matched by the precision fit of the
brightwork and Steele Rubber weather stripping, ensuring perfect
panel gaps and seals throughout the exterior. The Impala's stance
is perfected by a set of custom, one-off 17 inch Billet Specialties
wheels. Inside, the interior showcases the same level of
craftsmanship and attention to detail. M&M Hotrod Interiors red
leather upholstery, accented with 1963 Impala cloth inserts, is
meticulously stitched and fitted, remaining faithful to the
original interior design while adding modern comforts. The Vintage
Air heating and air conditioning system is seamlessly incorporated,
as are the Dakota Digital RTX Series gauges and Kicker audio system
with Bluetooth connectivity.
The build reflects a comprehensive approach to quality and
performance. The Edelbrock fuel management system, Ricks Hotrod
Tanks stainless steel fuel tank, C&R Racing radiator with a
brushless fan, XS Power battery, and American Autowire wiring
harness all work together to ensure modern levels of reliability
and performance. The result is not just a show car, but a testament
to what's possible when skilled craftsmen bestow an ultra-powerful
drivetrain and modern amenities to a beloved classic. This
rotisserie restoration offers an opportunity to acquire the
ultimate evolution of 1960s American muscle that stands at the very
peak of restomod craftsmanship.
