Vehicle Description
This 1959 Volkswagen 23-window microbus received a comprehensive
restoration to show-quality standards with upgrades for performance
and reliability. It is powered by an upgraded 2110cc turnkey engine
from Powerhaus VW in Torrance, CA, making an estimated 150hp. The
brand-new engine has heavy-duty cases, chromoly crankshaft, H-beam
Chevrolet journal rods, lightened chromoly flywheel, chromoly
pushrods, Manton forged rockers, dual 44 Weber IDF carburetors and
Magnaspark electronic ignition. It breathes out of a custom
Jet-Hot-coated tuned exhaust. The engine is mated to a Competition
Engineering-built Freeway Flyer 4-speed manual transmission with
IRS axles. The exterior features six chrome pop-out side windows,
safari-style chrome pop-out windshields and a full sliding sunroof
- great on sunny days. It is finished in Pearl White and turquoise
over a Velvet Green interior. It has been upgraded with 3-point
seat belts and power dual master cylinder brakes for added safety.
It rides on brand-new Bridgestone reproduction original-style
tires. This example has approximately 320 miles on the build.
