for the fun and excitement. Saturday, November 2nd, we will have
cars, trucks, trailsome background on the car The car was purchased
by my in-laws in May or 1992. It was in need or repair and much TLC
so my father in-law purchased it with the intention of restoring it
with the appropriate parts that were consistent with the timing of
production which was Dec of 1964. He did all of the work by himself
at home. He replaced the existing incorrect engine with the current
small block 327 that the car was originally manufactured with. He
also sought out various other incorrect parts on the car and
replaced them as needed to get the car in worthy condition. My
in-laws gave my wife and I the car in 2014 and we sent it right
from south west Minnesota to Vinnie's Muscle Cars of Texas for a
total check up, repair and makeover job. Vinnie worked on getting
the car show worthy including restoring it's paint color to the
original Glen Green that it is today. The car has been garaged and
covered since 1992 and likely before. For the last 10 years, the
car has had less than 500 miles put on it. While my father in law
had it, they took a few trips to the Black Hills and drove it from
time to time around rural Minnesota but kept relatively low miles
on the car. The odometer correctly represents the mileage on the
car from the original manufacture date. He did tons of research
during his restoration and tried to make it as correct as possible.
Given that the car was manufactured on 12/3/64, he used the
castings and numbers for the parts that would have been available
to the assembly line on that date. Vinnie can speak to the work he
did to the car and the parts he used. He's the only guy that's
worked on it since 2014. Previous known history prior to 1992.
Prior to 1975, it was owned by a couple in Nebraska. They sold it
to Diamond Auto Sales and it then changed hands 3 or 4 times in
1975 and finally sold in Sioux Falls, SD to a man from Bismark, ND.
He held on to it until 1979, when he then sold it to the couple
from Wisconsin that my In-Laws eventually bought it from through a
dealer/auto sales shop. The previous owner intended on restoring
the car with his son but tragically lost his son before it was
complete and decided to sell it.
