This 1953 Buick Riviera custom hardtop is powered by a custom-built
high-performance 455ci 4-barrel Rocket V8 engine mated to a 3-speed
automatic transmission. The engine is fitted with a dual exhaust
and Hooker long-tube headers. It is cooled by a recored 3-core
radiator and both mechanical and electric fans. It also features a
chrome 100-amp single-wire alternator, a chrome K&N air cleaner
with chrome valve covers, and lake and side pipes for show are
molded into the side body. It sits on four-corner fully adjustable
Air Ride Technologies air-ride suspension with ShockWave in the
front and gas shocks in the rear. The air-ride controls are mounted
in the custom center console that extends through to the back seat.
Other options and special features include power steering and
brakes, halogen headlights and exterior spotlights. It also
features a full custom-fabricated steel body and subtle custom
bodywork, including a louvered hood, a custom grille fabricated
from two 1953 Buick grilles, custom-fabricated aluminum engine bay
inner fenders and a smoothed firewall. Custom sheet metal
fabrication includes a full-width 20-inch sheet metal extension on
the rear body with 1954 Mercury taillights. It also features an
aftermarket Continental kit by Continental Enterprises. This Buick
features disc brakes mounted under custom Vintiques 15-inch
custom-reinforced heavy-duty alloy wire wheels. The interior
features custom upholstery with four bucket seats by Cascade Custom
Interiors. The custom-built full-length metal console extends into
the rear seat area. The aftermarket gauge set in the console
features much of the original dash components left intact for the
nostalgic look. It also features original and aftermarket clocks
and a custom JVC stereo system with single-CD player. The battery
