This 59 stepside Chevy is a full custom build, with over 2,000 hours in body fabrication, and another 1,500 in paint and body work. This Chevy truck features a fully tubbed custom box, lined with black walnut wood inlay on a cherry wood decking. Integrated tailgate release and cabling, flushed Chevy bowtie taillights in the roll pan, fully welded body seams. Remote controlled shaved doors will catch your eye along with the custom hood hinges, and one piece front clip and fenders, among many other body improvements. The shortened wheel base of 105” gives the truck a mean stance, and is seated on 18″ and 20″ Billet Specialties Dagger design aluminum wheels mounted with 28x10.00R18LT front and 31x18.00R20LT Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R. Stopping power is provided by Wilwood 4 wheel power (vacuum pump w/ gauge) disc brakes and oversized drilled rotors with polished aluminum calipers. A view from the rear of the truck showcases the 18” wide tires, custom Chevy bow tie graphic on the tailgate, and inlaid tail lights.
Power adjustable Seats are Licorice Root Black leather, matching the Chevy emblazoned black headliner, and door panels, sitting on a custom purple carpeting. While custom black walnut wood inlay on cherry wood accents the running boards. Additional appointments include a Pioneer stereo with Infinity 4 speaker and subwoofer sound system powered by a 1200watt amplifier, Lokar pedals, B+M Megashifter, and Vintage air Heat and AC, with Hide-A-Vent activated vents to keep the interior climate controlled.
Instrumentation includes Autometer Carbon Fiber Gauges inset into a customized one piece seamless purple dash, with flaming graphics. Gauges include Tacometer, Fuel Level, Voltage, Fuel Pressure, Oil Pressure, Water Temperature, Transmission Temperature, Boost/Vacuum for Power Brakes Vacuum pump. Amp and subwoofer are concealed behind the passenger seat.
The engine compartment built with aesthetics in mind and is detailed to match the exterior of the truck. The 498 Big block, was custom built by Cheney Performance Racing and dyno tested at more than 700 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque on pump gasoline. The engine is adorned with Brodix 5 axis CNC ported heads, March Style Track Serpentine Pulley system, Holly 1000 carburetor, MSD 6 series ignition system, and nickel braided hoses. The four core aluminum Radiator is cooled with dual electric fans, and a separate thermostatic controlled fan for the transmission cooler.
Once on a hoist you will see how power is routed through the 498 big block to the rear wheels through a 700R4 Automatic Race built transmission, and Ford 9” 3rd member posi Rear End to Moser Axles. The 3” exhaust system is completely ceramic coated, and with custom headers. The underside of the body is fully heat, soundproof and bedliner, and sits on a custom boxed and shortened frame (105” wheel base), suspended by Heitds Superride II Coil over shock front suspension, and Heidts 4 link coil over shock rear suspension.
