This rare1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7 GT 390 4 speed with 9 inch limited-slip differential with 3.25:1 gears Cougar is a California car with no rust, and all original sheet metal. The Cougar was restored between 2009 and 2011 by the first owner. I’m the third owner to the best of my knowledge.
Details:
Cougar is Jamaican Yellow with black vinyl top. All exterior chrome components were re-plated, and the windshield, trunk lid, vinyl roof, and door handles were replaced. Under the car is very solid with all original floor pans. Polished 14″ Magnum 500-style wheels with BF Goodrich tires. During the restoration, the power steering box, power steering pump, and control arm were rebuilt. Total Control front springs with KYB shocks. All new Scott Drake front suspension parts were installed in 2022. Rear leaf springs from West Coast Classic Cougar installed in 2024. Bucket seats and the rear bench were reupholstered in black vinyl. The dash pad, overhead console, door panels, window and door handles, headliner, and carpets were replaced.in 2011. New solid state turn signal sequential kit and Headlights Electric Conversion Kit were also installed. See pictures for details.
Engine bored .030 complete rebuild with C8OE-6090-N 428 Cobra Jet heads, Cloyes roller timing chain, a Crower camshaft, COMP Cams lifters, Flow master exhaust.
