Offered by The Vault Classic Cars, Fullerton, CA . 714-401-1047

We have the build sheet showing the car and the original dealer, , and we get all the way back to the second owner,  Claire Rogers, who bought it as a late model used car at Walter Schroeder Motors of La Grange, Illinois in March 1941 for $757 American dollars! The former owner thought she made it to California right around WWII.

Myra Rogers, likely Claire’s relative, had it in Anaheim, CA up until the 1960’s.  Floyd Swan of Anaheim  then owned until 1978, Ed Reynolds of Studebaker International fame from ’78 to ’84,  then Thomas Griffith of Northern California until 1986,  and from ’86 onward the most recent former owner from Southern California.  It spent most of it’s life in Southern California, with all of the rust-free goodness you would expect from living here so long.

The Club Sedan is an unusual and attractive body style, and the Commander was the higher specification car with a bigger engine and more deluxe features than the Champion of the same year.

Excellent chrome! The orange wheels match the Studebaker color plates, and they really pop up visually against the conservative grey-green paint.

Studebaker Accessory bumper guard.

The dashboard is spectacular! as is the steering wheel which has been re-cast in the marble look steering wheel plastic!  They did a great job on this!   Excellent restored doorpanels & window surrounds   excellent original headliner

These little eagle wing decorations are nice,  reproductions to replace the old, original plastic

The seats are original – in great shape for original, with some slight wear and repair showing on the front seats, and the rear seats are original and super nice!

The 226 Cubic inch Flathead 6 cylinder is factory rated at 90 Horsepower – and it is surprisingly powerful!  It really steps up and goes, and with the factory overdrive can handle freeway speeds! The tires are modern radials, The brakes have just been completely redone, with new master cylinder, hoses and wheel cylinders, and new brake shoes properly arced to the freshly turned brake drums.and this car is ready to enjoy right now!
