1963 Jaguar XKE Coupe
When we talk about a Jag E-Type Coupe we immediately think that
it's one of the prettiest cars ever built- certainly Enzo Ferrari
thought so and we couldn't agree more.
This one has been with us a while and we will say right up front
that this car has seen very little use over the years and will most
likely require some patience and fettling from its next owner. The
car runs and drives pretty solid at this point, engine and trans
perform well, brakes seem very solid and we've recently added new
silencers to a solid exhaust system. We had the transmission gone
through because first gear was notchy and well beyond the noise one
would expect from a period moss 4 speed. All good now.
We have a Heritage certificate and while this car was born Golden
Sand it has been changed to a very attractive red that looks great
and presents itself well on this 2-seat coupe. Further based on the
heritage this car is numbers matching in engine block, head and vin
on the front subframe. The interior is most likely original and has
been dyed at some point in its life. The chrome is all presentable
and the chrome wire wheels and tires are very good.
In a nutshell if you are looking for a restored yesterday, concours
correct nut and bolt restoration this is not your car- but we all
know that car is closer to 150K then where we have this one priced.
We think this car represents a value in the market for someone
looking for an XKE driver that they can enjoy and perhaps improve
along the way.
