Collectible Motor Car of Atlanta is pleased to offer this PHS
documented 1964 Pontiac GTO Convertible. The first generation of
the GTO is credited as popularizing the muscle car market segment
in the 1960s. The Pontiac GTO is considered by some to have started
the trend with all four domestic automakers offering a variety of
competing models known as muscle cars. For the 1964 and 1965 model
years, the GTO was an optional package on the intermediate-sized
Pontiac Tempest. The 1964 GTO offered here underwent a frame-off
restoration in the early 1980's. The GTO since then has continued
to have numerous upgrades making this Pontiac highly sought after.
This amazing GTO is finished in beautiful Marimba Red Iridescent
with a recent White convertible power top over super-sharp Black
interior. Under the hood sits what is believed to be a healthy
numbers-matching 389 V8 (code 78X) that has been upgraded to a
period-correct 1964 Tri-Power system. A nice addition to the
factory 4-Speed car is now a 5-Speed Tremec transmission. Keeping
the powerplant cool sits a "Be Cool" aluminum radiator. And on
those hot summer days when you opt for the top to be up, Vintage
Air conditioning keeps the cabin nice and comfy. Also, the car
looks fantastic sitting on American Racing Wheels outfitted with BF
Goodrich Redline tires. This car comes with tons of documentation,
manuals, literature, and history. This is an investment-grade 1964
Pontiac GTO and it's ready for someone to enjoy. Inquire today.
