AACA Senior 1st prize winner! Featured in Mustang Monthly magazine!
This remarkable Florida car received an extensive ground up
restoration and is accompanied by a binder full of receipts and
documentation to the new owner. It goes back to 1996 which is a
real testament to a job well done to still look this good today.
Between 1997-1998 it traveled every weekend in its decked out
enclosed trailer all over the east coast winning multiple 1st place
awards. Any time the judges picked on something the owner corrected
it. The colors and features also make this a standout Mustang. Come
rediscover why this is one of the best-selling cars of all
time!
EXTERIOR: What a class act, this color with the parchment top is
rich looking! Oh My God, I just read the magazine article and the
car was nick named "class act", I just called it that and had no
idea! The Emberglow Metallic was a special order in 1965. It was
resprayed in PPG basecoat/clearcoat paint and has been applied with
great attention to detail then polished to a smooth and reflective
finish. Looking down the side of the body it is nice and straight.
All the panels are precisely aligned with consistent gaps that are
spot on. All the glass has been replaced as well as the rubber
seals and fuzzy strips too. The vinyl top is in great condition and
matches the interior perfectly. The side pin stripe is painted on
under the clear coat and is basically smooth to the touch. All the
chrome has a beautiful shine, and the bumpers appear to be
refinished. The front grill is a reproduction, and it proudly wears
the AACA 1st place plaque. All the factory correct emblems are in
place. It's equipped with a GT Style dual exhaust that exits
through the rear valance. It also has GT style 14" rims with
reproduction double redline tires.
INTERIOR: The parchment interior with rust color dash pad and
carpet is a very nostalgic color combination that beautifully
compliments the Emberglow Metallic exterior. Everything appears to
be replaced or painstakingly refurbished to virtually new
condition. The headliner, visors, dash pad, steering wheel, seats,
and carpeting all look fresh. It's complete with front seat belts
and an air conditioner that will drop ice cubes in your lap.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The "A" in the VIN designates the high
performance 289-225 hp V8 with a 4 barrel. The engine is very stock
looking with a gold air cleaner and valve covers and the correct
stickers. The engine bay is detailed beautifully. It's furnished
with air conditioning that has been upgraded with a modern
compressor and freon. The motor runs cool with an upgraded aluminum
radiator and overflow bottle. It also uses the stock fan and shroud
along with an added electric fan in front. Another very desirable
feature is power steering and power steering. The battery is
properly secured, it has new horns, the squirters are hooked up and
it has the FoMoCo washer bag. All the lines, belts, hoses, and
wires have been replaced. The underside of the hood was nicely
painted Emberglow Metallic. The fender wells and firewall have been
neatly painted gloss black and has new bolts.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The underside of the trunk lid and jamb are
painted slick just like the body. It has a reproduction sticker and
the weatherstrip was replaced. Inside is also painted the same
color as the exterior. It's equipped with a full-size spare tire,
jack, and rubber floor mat.
UNDERSIDE: It is restored and detailed! The front-end suspension
looks like it was rebuilt and is detailed. The complete steering
system has been rebuilt, and a new power steering pump installed in
2021. All the springs and shocks were replaced. The brake system
was rebuilt, lines were replaced, and e-brake is hooked up. It has
a GT dual exhaust with crossover pipe and GT tips going through the
valance. Looking up at the 289 cubic inch V8 engine it's very tidy,
has correct fuel filter and starter. The C4 automatic transmission
appears to be recently serviced. It's equipped with a Ford 8" rear
end that received a fresh gasket and fluid in 2021. The floors are
solid, rust free, and nicely detailed with black paint.
SERVICE: Our lead mechanic thoroughly inspected this car and we
replaced a freeze plug, charged the AC system, installed horns,
adjusted the door release rod, installed the emergency brake cable,
and installed tail pipe hangers.
This car is a cultural icon that still strongly resonates in the
soul of countless Americans from coast to coast! With an abundance
of styling and performance this pony is a thoroughbred that is
begging for a ride! The condition, colors and features really set
this apart from the others. It also comes with a story and a Senior
1st place!
