This 1967 Corvette Convertible 427/435HP was sold new on March 24th, 1967, from Hechler Motor Co. in Highland Springs, Virginia, to Charles from Richmond, Virginia. Charles ordered this Corvette with almost every option available in 1967, and as such, it is one of the highest-optioned L71 Corvettes produced. The options list includes: J50 power brakes, M21 Muncie 4-Speed Manual Transmission, 988 Marlboro Maroon Exterior, 420 Saddle Vinyl Interior, A01 Tinted Glass, U69 AM/FM Radio, C05 White Vinyl Convertible Top, C07 Auxiliary Hardtop, A31 Power Windows, N14 Side Dual Exhaust, N36 Telescopic Steering Wheel, N40 Power Steering, N89 15" Aluminum Wheels, K66 Transistor Ignition, P92 775x15 White Wall Tires, G81 Positraction Axle 3:70R, and L71 435HP V8 Turbojet. These options are documented by the car's original Protect-O-Plate and Tank Sticker (AKA Build Sheet). Charles would remain the caretaker of this Corvette from 1967 to 1983, when he sold the car to Murphy, also of Richmond, Virginia. After a short time of ownership, the car changed hands once again in 1984, this time to Ernie of Corpus Christi, Texas, (a prominent Corvette collector well-known for possessing some of the best examples of rare Corvettes). Ernie would take the L71 out on the national judging circuit, achieving two Bloomington Gold awards (1986 & 2000), and two NCRS Top Flight Awards (1/86 & 9/86). Under Ernie's ownership, this Corvette also had the honor of being featured as a centerfold car of Vette Vues Magazine in the June 1987 issue. The Corvette traded hands again in 2002, this time to Peter of St. Louis, Missouri. Peter owned this Corvette until 2005, when it was purchased by Leroy of Austin, Texas. Leroy then owned the car until 2008, when Charles of Ohio purchased it. The car was then purchased by Howard of Pennsylvania. Howard would take the car back out on the judging circuit in 2011, where the car achieved another NCRS Top Flight Award. With only 38,622 documented original miles since new, one (exceptional) re-paint, and a completely original interior, this is one of the best examples of a 1967 Corvette Convertible available today. Included in the sale are two binders of documents, including the original Protect-O-Plate and warranty book, original Tank Sticker, all original books, all NCRS Awards and judging sheets, Bloomington Gold Awards and judging sheets, previous state inspections, and various insurance cards and receipts.
