Now available at MaxMotive, a black on black 1969 Chevrolet
Chevelle SS396 Convertible. The 396ci Big Block V8 runs smoothly
and reliably thanks to an Edelbrock 4-barrel perched atop an
Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum intake. An electric cooling fan
has been added as well. Tube headers empty into a full-length dual
exhaust system with Dynomax mufflers. The rugged, floor shifted
Turbo 400 automatic transmission sends the torque to a 12-bolt posi
rear with 3.55 gears. The car is triple black with a Tuxedo Black
exterior repaint, black vinyl interior with bucket seats and center
console, and a new black cloth convertible top. In the console is
the iconic horseshoe handle floor shifter. Power steering, power
front disc brakes, power top, power windows, SS Rallye wheels, and
Rallye gauge package with factory tach (tach not currently
functioning) round out a well-equipped package. A thoughtful touch
is the faux Delco battery for authentic appearance, but the real
power comes from 650cca Napa battery mounted in the trunk. Another
addition is a A Sparkomatic AM/FM/Cassette stereo that fits neatly
in the dash. It doesn't get much better than a big block Chevelle
Convertible from the peak of the muscle car era. This triple black
1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 Convertible is a great example.
