The Winners Circle Project is an innovative STEAM-based educational
program designed to inspire fresh, young, innovative minds through
the exciting world of car racing. Through their work, science,
technology, engineering, arts and math come alive for their
students, both on and beyond the racetrack. The mission is to
inspire the next generation of innovators through project-based
learning, and they are reinventing the STEAM engine. An embodiment
of this mission is this 1965 Factory Five MK4 roadster,
meticulously built by Owego High School students with all-new
parts. It is powered by a small-block Ford 306ci V8 engine,
equipped with Speedmaster electronic EFI stacks, paired with a
Tremec 5-speed transmission, and linked to an independent rear
suspension featuring a Ford 8.8 center section with a limited-slip
differential and 3.55 gears, with approximately 400rwhp and a
weight of just 2,200 pounds. This car boasts 4-wheel disc brakes,
complemented by Koni coilover shocks at all four corners, and rolls
on 15-inch Halibrand wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
Inspired by a road race car, this design includes a rear wing and
front splitter to enhance aerodynamics. The interior features
vintage gauges, black bucket seats with Simpson racing harnesses
and black cut-pile carpeting. **TITLED AS 1965 FACTORY FIVE FFR 65
