This true 242, 1967 GTO has been inspected and labeled a “creampuff” by a local classic car restoration shop. This car was purchased near San Diego, CA a few years ago from the original owner, I am the second owner. The frame and body are in excellent condition with little to no rust concerns. It has always been stored indoors, The motor, transmission and suspension have all been rebuilt with only about 800 miles on those parts. The car has a total of 116,500 miles but the motor has less than 1000 miles. it is straight, and the doors, trunk and hood all close as they should.
The original 400 block was bored and stroked to 461 CI, The performance package came as advised from Butler Performance, the Pontiac performance specialists, It includes a 750 Holley double pumper carburetor. The motor was assembled by Austin Speed Shop and runs on premium pump fuel - but still boasts about 425hp and 525 fp of torque. This build was carefully thought out and executed for reliability and muscle car worthy performance including a high performance Comp roller cam, balanced rotating assembly, electronic ignition and rebuilt high performance Pontiac heads.
The original turbo 400 automatic transmission was rebuilt and paired with an Edge Racing Converter. A new 2.5" exhaust system was installed with Doug's headers and H pipes, The exhaust was welded and does not leak. A new front wiring harness has been installed. It also has front disc breaks with new front tires. This car sounds as good as is runs and it is geared for the highway. Along with the motor and transmission, both the front and rear suspension were rebuilt including new springs and shocks. It rides like a dream and comes with PHS documents.
The dash, headliner and radio were recently replaced. The rest of the interior is original. There are a couple of small tears in the original front seats. The hand made console can be easily removed if desired. Aftermarket temperature and oil pressure gauges have been installed. The air conditioner has been rebuilt and needs charged. All original parts that have been removed from the car have been saved and come with the car.
